Local 5 of the Pulp, Paper and Woodworkers of Canada is a multi-shop local based mainly in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada. We have approximately 450 members in 14 different shops in and around Vancouver and some members in MacKenzie, in Northern BC. Our members work in widely diverse industries from plastics manufacturing to clerical workers.
Our members are governed by the constitution of the national union and the bylaws of our Local. Each work place is represented on the Local executive by a plant chairperson and each plant has a committee consisting of a chair, a secretary and for the larger plants a vice-chair.
Our executive committee meets once every month and a general membership meeting follows the executive meeting. Our meetings are held in the boardroom of our local offices located at 702 12th Street in New Westminster, BC.
